The track star caught on camera striking her opponent with a baton in a shocking moment has now claimed it was purely accidental. The indoor track championships in Virginia took a dramatic turn when Alaila Everett was seen hitting Kaelen Tucker during the 4x200m relay at the VHSL Class 3 State Indoor Championships. Tucker, representing Lynchburg’s Brookville High School, was running the second leg of the relay when she passed Everett of I.C. Norcom High School. Everett, who says she has since faced death threats and racial slurs, broke down in tears while sharing her side of the viral incident. “I know my intentions, and I would never hit someone on purpose,” she insisted. “After hitting her a couple of times, my baton got stuck behind her back and rolled up. When I pumped my arms again, I lost my balance, and that’s when she got hit.” Link below.
