A Georgia volunteer firefighter has been arrested for allegedly taking and sharing photos from the scene where twin brothers were found shot to death on Bell Mountain. Scott Kerlin, 42, of Hiawassee, is accused of capturing and distributing images of 19-year-old Qaadir Malik Lewis and Naazir Rahim Lewis, whose bodies were discovered on March 8. According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), hikers found the twins at the summit with fatal gunshot wounds. While authorities initially suggested a possible murder-suicide, autopsy results are still pending. The twins’ family rejects the murder-suicide theory, arguing they had no known ties to Bell Mountain and were planning to travel to Boston the following day. They are calling for a deeper investigation. Kerlin has been charged with misdemeanor obstruction and dismissed from his role for breaching department protocol. The GBI continues to investigate both the circumstances of the twins’ deaths and Kerlin’s actions, urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
